Sherry D. Boyer, Oboist Graduate of Western State College with a B.A. in Secondary Education and Applied Oboe Performance. As a senior, winner of the school’s Outstanding Woman Student of the Year award. Private instruction with David Abosch of the Denver Symphony Orchestra and Forrest Cornwell of Western State College. Highlights of performing career include the selection as oboist in a special performance with Dave Brubeck and in the recording studios for movies filmed in Boulder, Colorado, recording companies in the Denver, Colorado area. Served as principal oboist in the Denver area for the Aurora Civic Orchestra (2 years), Denver Civic Orchestra (12 years), and the Rocky Mountain Symphony (8 years) before moving to Colorado Springs. In Colorado Springs, have served as principal oboist with the Pikes Peak Philharmonic Orchestra (12 years oboe, 2 years section cellist), Chamber Orchestra of the Springs (8 years), Pueblo Symphony Orchestra (4 years), and The Little London Winds (4 years). Other performance venues have included the Colorado Springs Chorale, Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra, First United and Riverside Baptist Church orchestras. Have performed on oboe, clarinet, tenor sax, and English horn in Musical Theatre productions in Denver and the Pikes Peak region for many years. | |||||

As a performer and teacher in the Colorado Springs and Denver areas for many years, I have performed with many of the finest local musicians in these organizations.
